Here in Southern Spain we love flamenco, and considering the passion and musicality we share as nations, it’s strange that this incredible art form isn’t better represented in Wales. Now  there’s a unique opportunity to try flamenco dance in four Welsh towns, because between October 5th and 10th

This October, international flamenco dancer Adrián Brenes will hold workshops for newcomers to flamenco.Adrián Brenes is the real deal, a  ighly trained professional flamenco dancer from Southern Spain. He’s also a lovely guy and a great teacher. He even speaks English! See Adrián dance here:

In 2012, Adrián and I produced the world’s first ever Shakespeare/Flamenco fusion show, a production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. In 2013, we published a book together, A Summer in Flamenco. This year, I’ve persuaded him to spend some time in my home, South Wales, introducing the liberating and thrilling art of flamenco to Welsh participants. Whether you can already dance or not, flamenco is for you. panish flamenco dancers come in all shapes and sizes, both sexes and every age from two to eighty, but they all share a pride in their bodies and a joy in the dance. Let us help you find your inner gypsy!

We’re looking for participants who want to spend a day experiencing flamenco dance from every angle. We’ll show you how to move your body with true Andalusian panache and we’ll do everything we can to make you fall in love with flamenco!

Our workshops will take place in Cardiff, Swansea, Newport and Merthyr Tydfil between October 5th and 10th, so look for our website on:


The workshops run from 10.30 to 4.30 with an hour’s break for lunch, and cost £50
or £45 if booked in advance.
